We are Master of Public Health students in the Schulich Interfaculty Program in Public Health at Western University.
This blog is a product of our Health Promotion culminating project. We were tasked with creating a social marketing campaign and chose to develop a campaign targeting youth and encouraging safe internet behaviour. We chose this topic as evidence suggests that improper use of social media may lead to negative mental health effects and we found that there are limited resources to prevent this. Our goal is to educate youth to understand how to use social media in a positive way, and to encourage them to create a safe space online!
